The Carl and Emily Fuchs Foundation is marking fifty years of grantmaking excellence  in South Africa. In celebration of its 50th Anniversary, the Foundation has introduced a national flagship project: FUCHS – The Golden Years.  The project extends over the period 2016 to 2019 and will culminate in the Foundation’s Anniversary celebration during August 2019. Over the past fifty years, The Carl and Emily Fuchs Foundation’s grantmaking has been focused in four strategic areas and its national flagship project funding has been structured into the same categories:

  • Childcare & Youth Development
  • Health Services
  • Higher Education
  • Technology Development, Innovation & Entrepreneurship.

The Foundation has announced a call for proposals in these categories. The funding available per beneficiary organisation amounts to R2.25mil over the project period, payable in escalating tranches each year. In addition, the selection panel will monitor all beneficary NPOs and tertiary institutions and the project evaluated to have produced the greatest impact over the project period will be awarded a grand prize of an additional R1mil during 2019.

This is an outstanding gesture and the trustees of this home grown and proudly South African grant making  foundation, under the expert guidance of CEO, Dr Riaan Els, is to be commended and congratulated on this milestone and in
celebrating it in this trademark – generous – manner. Knowing Riaan and his professional team, please – don’t submit applications that do not demostrate clear, quality impact assessment/monitoring and evaluation.
